Hide an RSVP question you no longer need without deleting it or losing guest responses. One toggle is all it takes.

How to Disable an RSVP Question on Your Wedding Website

You added a question to your RSVP form weeks ago and it made perfect sense at the time. Maybe you asked about dietary restrictions, parking needs, or song requests. Now the menu is finalized, parking is sorted, or you simply don’t need that information anymore.

You could delete the question — but then you lose every response your guests already submitted. Nobody wants to throw away useful answers just because plans changed.

There’s a better way. With one toggle, you can hide a question from your RSVP form while keeping all existing responses safe. This tutorial shows you how.

When to Disable a Question

You might want to disable a question when:

  • The information is no longer needed — You’ve already made decisions based on the responses
  • One event’s RSVP is closing — But the same question is still active for other events
  • You’re pausing temporarily — You want to stop collecting answers but may re-enable later
  • Plans changed — The question is outdated but the responses are still useful records

Accessing the RSVP Questions Page

To manage your RSVP questions:

  1. Log in to your Harusi Hub account
  2. From your dashboard, look at the navigation at the top on a computer and on the side nav on mobile
  3. Click on RSVP Questions
  4. Select the event whose question you want to disable

Each event has its own set of RSVP questions, so make sure you’ve selected the correct event before making changes.

Disabling a Question

Each question card has a “Show question” toggle in the bottom-right corner.

How to Disable

  1. Find the question you want to hide
  2. Locate the Show question toggle on the question card
  3. Click the toggle to turn it off

That’s it. The question is now hidden from guests.

What Changes on the Dashboard

When you disable a question, the card’s content fades to 50% opacity. This gives you a clear visual indicator that the question is currently hidden without removing it from your list.

What Happens When You Disable a Question

Here’s what disabling does — and what it doesn’t:

What HappensDetails
Guests won’t see itThe question no longer appears on the RSVP form
Responses are preservedAll existing guest answers remain in the system
You can still view responsesClick the chart icon to see collected answers anytime
It’s reversibleToggle it back on whenever you want
Takes effect immediatelyNew RSVPs won’t include this question right away

The question is not deleted. It stays in your list exactly where it was, just hidden from guests.

Re-Enabling a Question

Changed your mind? Need the question back?

  1. Find the disabled question (it appears faded)
  2. Click the Show question toggle to turn it back on
  3. The question immediately appears on the RSVP form again

Guests who RSVP after re-enabling will see the question as normal.

Disable vs. Delete: Which Should You Use?

ActionUse When
DisableYou want to stop showing the question but keep all responses
DeleteYou no longer need the question or its responses at all

Deleting a question permanently removes all guest responses for that question. If there’s any chance you’ll want to reference those answers later, disable instead.

Managing Questions Across Events

RSVP questions are per-event. If the same question exists on multiple events and you want to disable it everywhere:

  1. Select the first event from the event selector
  2. Disable the question
  3. Switch to the next event
  4. Repeat for each event

This gives you fine-grained control — you can keep a question active for one event while hiding it for another.

Summary

Disabling an RSVP question is a simple, non-destructive way to keep your RSVP form focused on what matters right now:

FeatureHow It Works
Show question toggleOne click to show or hide a question
Visual indicatorDisabled questions appear faded on your dashboard
Responses preservedNo data is lost when you disable
Per-event controlDisable for one event, keep active for others
Fully reversibleRe-enable anytime with the same toggle

Your guests only see the questions that matter right now, and you keep every answer from before.
